Trailblazers spring trailquest league – Round 5
Barnett Demesne, near Shaws Bridge, Belfast Sunday 28th June
Parking and Registration will be located in the main carpark at Barnett Demesne which is Located off the A55 ring road at Shaws Bridge, Belfast.
Format 4 hour or 2 hour trailquest score event.
The Lagan Valley Regional Park event will have 2 maps, A standard OS map for the more distant controls and on the reverse will be an orienteering map showing closer controls within the LVRP.
The area is smaller than those used in previous Trailblazers events, more emphasis will be on testing competitors navigation skills.
Registration will be slightly earlier to avoid Sunday afternoon traffic Reg from 1000, Starts from 1030. Please help the organisers by sending your team name, team members names and team class to: blazersentries@aol.com before the event.
Event prices £8 seniors £4 youths (under 16) – £2 discount for full TCA members. (event prices include associate TCA membership for insurance purposes) please join the TCA online beforehand to save time on the day.
Teams may be made up of 1 to 4 riders
Classes will be available for open, female, mixed, vets (45+ average age) and youth (at least 1 member under 16)
Maps will be pre-printed and laminated 1:50000 OS and 1:10000 orienteering maps.
Sport Ident electronic timing will be used, results and split times will be available on the day and reports and results will be available on the trailblazers website after the event.
Goodie-bags will be available for all competitors.

Please note:
Most of the routes available for the event are quite backroads and Bike paths, however busy roads may be crossed/followed at times, please take great care at these Roads/Junctions.
Also – as there may be other pedestrian/cycle traffic on the narrow towpaths we recommend that all competitors have a bell attached to their bikes for warning purposes.
